On Screen
From the Doctor to the world’s most famous detective — Beaufort Arms Court has a surprisingly cinematic past.

Young Sherlock
Monmouth became Victorian Oxford.
For Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock, Beaufort Arms Court was transformed into a bustling Oxford street. The location appears in Episode 2, The Curse of the Burnt Photograph, at around 30 minutes and 40 seconds.
The premises now occupied by Eat Me Drink Me were previously Oxford Coffee Shop and were dressed as a period greengrocer for filming.

Doctor Who
And before Sherlock came the Doctor…
Beaufort Arms Court was used during filming of the 2005 Doctor Who episode The Unquiet Dead, starring Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor.
The courtyard provided the exterior of Sneed & Company, the funeral parlour central to the episode. The area also returned for the 2008 Christmas special The Next Doctor.
Two detectives. One Doctor. One very curious courtyard.
Today there’s no Victorian greengrocer or funeral parlour — but there is coffee and cake.
